Try Every Mode
This might seem obvious, but it's an important tip nonetheless. This year, Madden has done much more to interconnect its modes. That means you can earn new packs in Madden Ultimate Team (MUT) simply by playing Face of the Franchise. Of course, you'll get the best rewards for a mode by playing that mode, but the crossover potential makes it easier to check every mode out.
On top of that, EA Sports has implemented several improvements to Franchise mode. Even if you play the game every year, it's worth giving the new changes a look. Who knows? The mode might be your new favorite. And for brand-new players, it's good to see the breadth of what Madden has to offer before settling into The Yard or MUT for the long haul. Speaking of all the modes, here's a quick breakdown if this is your first Madden experience:
- Exhibition - Basic play now mode. If you just want to hop into a one-off game against either the CPU or other players (online or via couch co-op), this is the place to go.
- Franchise - Here, you're in charge of your favorite franchise. That means setting the weekly gameplan, signing new players in the off-season, and everything in between.
- Face of the Franchise - Madden 22's single-player story mode. You control one player on his rise to the top of the NFL.
- Ultimate Team - Build out your own dream team and play against other players. Make sure to follow our Madden Ultimate Team Tips if you don't want to spend money opening packs.
- The Yard - Madden's version of backyard football. You'll control a single player in more arcade-like action. This year's version adds a few missions to flesh out the single-player content.
- Superstar KO - Team up with friends or play on your own in this mode where you're trying to score from your 25 yard line. You also get to draft your players, making it a fun offshoot of The Yard.
Pay Attention to Momentum
One of the big new additions to Madden NFL 22 this season are the M-Factors. Basically, as you play well, you'll unlock skills that either help you or hinder your opponent. Some of these are particularly strong, so it's important to note them when playing in a new stadium.

Many of these skills aren't available in MUT, so this tip mostly applies to Franchise mode and exhibition games. That said, if you're not aware of them, it can quickly turn a game out of your favor. To check them out, simply hold down RT and you'll be able to see what both teams have available.
Master Your Gameplan
Madden NFL 22 has given players plenty of new ways to plan out their tactics before and during a game. In both Franchise mode and exhibition matches, you can set a pre-game gameplan that gives you boosts in whatever area you need.
However, the real boon here is that you can alter your gameplan during halftime to counter what your opponent is doing. This extends to Ultimate Team where you can adjust your X-Factors at halftime to turn things around. So, make sure you're constantly adapting as needed and watch out for you opponent's changing tactics coming out of the break.
Fine Tune Your Graphical Settings
Madden NFL 22 comes with the option to select either performance or image quality mode through the settings menu. Performance ensures you have the highest frame rate possible, while Image Quality aims for better-looking game at the expense of some frames.

To get to this option, head to the main menu. From there, scroll to the far right of the screen and select the gear icon. Then, scroll to the bottom of the menu and select the option labeled "Graphics." Here, you're free to change you options to suit your needs.
Try Out Superstar KO with a Friend
Superstar KO is one of the more fun things EA Sports has added to Madden over the last few years. This year, the developers have added real-life NFL teams to the mode, while also giving you ability to play co-op eliminator. If you're just looking to have a blast with a buddy, this is one of the best ways to do it in Madden NFL 22. Make sure to give it a look and have fun with some more arcade-like football action.
What Are Credits Used For
Credits are one of Madden 22's many currencies. You get them by playing games in any mode, making them relatively easy to rack up by playing normally. You can use these credits to buy new cosmetic options like uniforms in the in-game store. However, it should be noted that some cosmetic items can only be purchased with real money.
To see your options, click in the touchpad on the main menu. Then, select the "Edit Avatar" option. This will give you a look at all of the items you can currently equip. If you like the look of a piece of gear, use your Credits to pick it up.
Will Madden 22 Come to Xbox Game Pass
advertisement
The short answer here is eventually. If you're an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate member, you're automatically a member of EA Play. This service gives you several benefits, but the one this point is concerned with is that Madden games eventually come to that service. Madden 21, for example, came to EA Play in March. So, that means you'll likely be waiting until the end of the NFL season before you can access Madden 22 via EA Play, but you should be able to do so at some point.
Is Madden 22 Crossplay
Unfortunately for fans hoping to play with their friends on other consoles, Madden 22 does not support crossplay. Hopefully, this is a feature EA can add in the future as it gets more comfortable developing for the new consoles.
